BFA is going to Athens in October to play in the Elite Neon Cup.
The Elite Neon Cup is one of the biggest youth tournaments in Europe: around 270 teams from 45 countries, played over three match days in Athens. Bayern, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Olympiacos, AEK and Galatasaray have all sent academy teams to past editions.
For this year's edition the organisers have announced Real Madrid, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain — in the same age groups we are entering.
Who is going
Two age groups, born 2015 and born 2017, open to players from all nine branches. The squad travels together with BFA coaches.
When
We travel 22–26 October. The tournament matches are on 23, 24 and 25 October.
Not our first trip
BFA has taken teams to the Gothia Cup in Sweden, the Madrid Youth Cup and Ayia Napa. Playing abroad is part of how we develop players here — it shows them where they stand against academies their own age from other countries.
